Specific prayer request of the day: Pray for Julia's cheek to heal, her doctors to know the right way to control her fevers and for her counts to go up!
From Momma:
-Her fever is really high.
Good news is the giant cheek looks good
from drs stand point. Doesn't look like fungal infection but a giant sore
from possibly biting it. We still need to find out what's causing
fevers. Shes had a very long rough day
-Pray for Juls her cheek has continued to grow and is the size of a
baseball. She is going into the o.r soon to do biopsy and possibly
surgery depending on what they find.
They don't think this is just mouth sores or thrush.
They said this is very complex
From Grandpa David:
-Been with Julia all day and just got home. It has been a roller coaster of a day.
Got there this morning to find her cheek was at least twice the size it
was yesterday.Julia only wanted to be held she was feeling so bad. The
doctors came in for rounds and they expressed concern about her jaw as
well. They upped her morphine to make her more comfortable and it didn't
take long and we could tell it was helping. More doctors came in to
check her jaw and nose and she got so upset with them touching her she
had a melt down. After a while of calming her down she worked with the
Doctor to let her check her out. They sent us down for a CT scan and
after that things were leaning toward a fungal infection. More doctors
were called in they needed to see inside her mouth but she just couldn't
do it. By this time they were really suspecting fungal infection which
would have been a 30 day stay with super antibiotics. We took her to OR
so they could put her out and do their tests , they had a group of drs
ready to work on her they checked inside her mouth, checked her teeth,
checked nose . They found she had bitten the inside of her cheek and now
they believe the swelling is from that. Not fungal Infection Thank God
for that.
Her fever spiked back up this afternoon at one time it
was 104. Now they have to try and figure out what is causing fever to
keep jumping like this. I got to carry her to her CT scan and back and
sat down to rock her in chair I stopped rocking for just a min she said
don't stop rocking Paw Paw, I rocked her for 3 hours. held her so tight.
Dear Lord please give the drs. the tools and ability to find what is
causing Julia's problems that she can receive the med. to heal her and
make her well again. Juls finally agreed to let me leave but I have to
be back early in the morning with 2 sweet teas I told her give me a
thumbs up and I would so she gave me the big thumbs up told her I would
see her in the morning.
About Me
Please join us to support a brave little girl in the fight of her life. Julia (Juls) Stone was recently diagnosed with and will BEAT stage four Ewing Sarcoma, a rare form of childhood bone cancer. She is a sweet and spunky little girl with a great deal of spirit. Her greatest champions are her mom and dad - Richie and Rachel. She is part of a loving Christian family made up of Richie, Rachel, 3 adopted children (Mackenzie, Ally, and Andrew) and two biological children (Julia and Ahnika). The family lives in southern Missouri and must travel to Children’s Hospital in St. Louis for Juls’ treatments. The medical and travel costs will be enormous so Team Juls is lending support in any way possible. We are rallying together to provide prayers, well-wishes and fundraising events. We aim to lend spiritual and emotional support and to ease the financial impact of medical/travel expenses for Juls' family during this tough time. Please join the fight with Team Juls!
There are a several ways to lend your support for Juls, so please reference the How You Can Help tab for more information. Thank you for your prayers all the support!
